Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale is set to flag off a group of 350 Kenyan Muslim pilgrims at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) today as they depart for Makkah, Saudi Arabia, to participate in this year’s Hajj pilgrimage. The event is being organized by the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM), with officials from the Saudi Arabian Embassy also expected to attend.
Hajj, one of the Five Pillars of Islam, is a sacred duty that every able-bodied Muslim with the financial means is required to undertake at least once in their lifetime. The pilgrimage attracts millions of Muslims from across the globe annually, providing a unique spiritual experience and a chance for unity and reflection among the faithful. Duale, a devout Muslim, is expected to offer words of encouragement and goodwill to the departing pilgrims during the ceremony.
