A series of brutal killings reported across different counties in Kenya has left communities in shock, with police intensifying investigations into the tragic incidents.
In Gatundu, Kiambu County, the body of a young girl was discovered dumped in the middle of a tea plantation on May 10, a day after she was reported missing by her family. The victim had a deep cut on the right side of her head and multiple stab wounds on her neck, back, and chest. A more severe wound was noted behind her right ear, likely caused by a sharp object. Authorities are yet to determine the motive behind the killing. Her body was taken to the Gatundu Level Five Hospital mortuary, where a postmortem examination is expected to shed more light on the gruesome murder. No arrests have been made so far.
Meanwhile, in Kakamega County, another suspected murder has rocked the Kambi Mapesa area. A 48-year-old primary school teacher, Evans Ambaka Vilimu, was found dead just 10 meters from his home. The body had deep cuts on the head and chin, indicating a violent attack. Police processed the scene and moved the body to a nearby mortuary for a postmortem. Like the Gatundu case, the motive remains unclear, and no suspects have been apprehended.
In a separate incident in Kayole, Nairobi, police are investigating the murder of Sharon Wambui, a bar waitress in Donholm. She was reportedly killed in her home on May 10 while her child played outside. The prime suspect, believed to be her boyfriend, fled the scene and remains at large. Wambui had multiple stab wounds on her chest and neck. Her body was taken to the mortuary as detectives pursue the suspect, described as a person of interest.
The rising cases of domestic and violent crimes have raised public concern, with residents calling for swift action from law enforcement agencies. Police continue to urge anyone with information regarding the murders to come forward as investigations continue in all three cases.
