Saboti Member of Parliament (MP) Caleb Amisi has disclosed that his final conversation with the late ODM leader Raila Odinga was a clear instruction to keep criticising the government.
Speaking during an interview on Obinna TV Extra on Monday, October 28, 2025, Amisi said Raila gave him the directive during a private meeting at his Kileleshwa office two months before his death.
“I can dare say, the last moment I had with Baba was in Kileleshwa in his private office, and Baba told me to my face, ‘continue hitting the government; this is not what we believe in,’” Amisi revealed.
The legislator explained that the late opposition leader was deeply concerned that the current administration had abandoned the ideals they once championed. According to Amisi, Raila’s message has remained his guiding principle ever since.
“He told me personally; that’s why I hit Ruto like nonsense. That was my last standing directive from Raila—to hit the government. I will continue doing what Baba left me to do,” he added.
Amisi spoke passionately about his loyalty to Raila’s vision, saying that he will continue holding the government accountable in honour of the late leader’s wishes.
The Saboti MP also criticised leaders who have recently aligned themselves with President William Ruto’s broad-based government, terming the move opportunistic and lacking legitimacy.
“What is a broad-based government? People went there to look for jobs. Show me a coalition agreement between UDA and the government—there is none. These are ‘foodious’ people,” Amisi claimed.
He accused some of Raila’s former allies of taking advantage of his absence abroad to strike deals with State House, insisting that Raila had emphasized that any form of cooperation with the government must be structured, inclusive, and transparent.
