The Kenya Meteorological Department has forecast a mix of cold nights, light rainfall, and high daytime temperatures across various parts of the country during the week of July 29 to August 4, 2025.
According to the weekly outlook, regions in the Central Highlands and Western Kenya should expect cold and cloudy mornings, with light rainfall in isolated areas. These include parts of Nyeri, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, and Nairobi counties. Afternoons are likely to see showers, except on Tuesday, which is expected to remain sunny throughout.
Despite some areas receiving brief showers, most parts of the country will remain dry. However, the nights will be particularly cold in the Central Highlands, South-eastern Lowlands, and parts of the Rift Valley, where temperatures could fall below 10°C. The public, especially those in high-altitude areas, is advised to dress warmly to prevent cold-related illnesses.
Meanwhile, residents in North-eastern and North-western counties such as Turkana and Mandera should brace for intense heat, with temperatures rising above 30°C. Authorities recommend staying hydrated and avoiding prolonged exposure to the sun.
Coastal regions and inland areas including the South-eastern Lowlands will experience strong southerly to south-easterly winds of up to 25 knots or more. These may disrupt outdoor activities and marine operations.
The Meteorological Department urges Kenyans to stay informed through official platforms and follow weather advisories to remain safe during this period of varying climatic conditions.
