The Democracy for Citizens (DCP) Party has launched a scathing attack on President William Ruto, accusing him of incompetence in managing key government ministries.
In a statement shared on the party’s official X account on Monday, September 22, 2025, DCP faulted Ruto for taking on health matters publicly, instead of leaving them to his Cabinet officials. The party argued that this points to a lack of capable leadership within the Ministry of Health.
The party drew comparisons to former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s tenure, saying that Ruto lacks strong figures like Mutahi Kagwe, Nancy Mwangangi, and Patrick Amoth, who handled health issues during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Today, Ruto is the one singing SHIF and SHA because he doesn’t have anyone competent there. Uhuru did not have to speak about education; God knows if he knew anything in that ministry,” the party stated.
Education Ministry Under Fire
Beyond health, DCP also took aim at Ruto’s leadership of the Ministry of Education. The party accused the president of slowing down the docket and delaying the release of examination results, a problem they say was not present under Uhuru.
Citing the late Prof. George Magoha’s firm stewardship, DCP noted that Uhuru never had to intervene constantly because he had strong Cabinet members who commanded public respect.
“It did not matter because George Magoha had things under control. Today, exams are released after public outcry, let alone no money for capitation,” the statement read.
Uhuru vs Ruto
The DCP further claimed that Ruto has lowered the stature of the presidency by engaging in excessive public relations stunts. They argued that unlike Uhuru, who relied on an efficient Cabinet, Ruto “is everywhere doing everything, becoming common and losing respect.”
“Ruto made us think that Uhuru was not SMART, but we can confirm that Uhuru was much SMARTER than Ruto, who only pretended to be smarter,” the party added.
