Deputy President Kindiki has issued a stark warning to Rigathi Gachagua, threatening to expose secrets he allegedly gathered while serving as Interior Cabinet Secretary. Kindiki made the remarks on November 23, 2025, during a campaign rally for UDA’s Mbeere North by-election candidate, Leonard Muthende, in Kivue, Mbeere North.
Addressing residents, Kindiki criticized Gachagua for belittling him as merely an employee of President William Ruto, insisting he deserves recognition as the Deputy President. He claimed that if Gachagua continues to insult him, he would reveal sensitive information that could shame the former Deputy President.
“Gachagua, leave me alone! I will shame you. I am not someone to play with. You have threatened many people, but your days are over,” Kindiki declared during the rally.
The Deputy President also accused Gachagua of intimidating leaders in the Mount Kenya region and questioned his political record. Kindiki contrasted his own experience with that of Gachagua, noting that the latter served only a single term as an MP and did not chair any parliamentary committee, while Kindiki held the position of Majority Leader in the Senate.
Kindiki further alleged that Gachagua forced his way into the Deputy President slot in 2022 by orchestrating the “No Rigathi, No Ruto” protests within the UDA party. He described Gachagua’s politics as radical and anti-government, calling for leaders to emulate the legacy of previous Mount Kenya politicians known for their decorum and professionalism.
Despite the sharp critique, Kindiki urged for peaceful campaigning ahead of the November 27, 2025, by-election, emphasizing the importance of maintaining calm and order during political activities in Mbeere North.
As the by-election draws closer, the public will be watching whether Kindiki’s threat materializes and how it may influence the political dynamics within UDA and the broader Mount Kenya region.
