Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has warned Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka to be cautious of close allies who may not have his best interests at heart. Speaking during a development tour in Mukuyuni, Makueni County, on Thursday, Kindiki said some individuals around Kalonzo are arrogant and disrespectful and could eventually turn against him.
“I have seen some people not Kalonzo, who is a good person but his friends are full of pride. They insult everyone: MPs, singers, the President. My big brother Kalonzo should be careful; these people will also insult him. I am telling you,” Kindiki cautioned.
The Deputy President urged political leaders to embrace humility and mutual respect in leadership. He said President William Ruto’s administration values all leaders and does not engage in political insults or undermining others.
“These people have been undermining leaders from all walks of life, including MPs and President William Ruto. We have no issue and respect leaders. But others see how we are measured and think we are pushovers. We are not,” Kindiki said.
He further stated, “You can’t be that arrogant. Are you God? Let’s respect one another. When you lead, unite the country, work with all leaders and respect everyone.”
Kindiki was accompanied by Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot, Deputy Majority Leader Owen Baya, MPs Vincent Musyoka (Mwala), Mwengi Mutuse (Kibwezi West), Mbithi Mwalyo (Masinga), Senator Tabitha Mutinda, and Principal Secretary Teresia Mbaika.
President Ruto’s close aide Farouk Kibet, who spoke earlier in Zombe, Kitui County, suggested that Kalonzo Musyoka should be considered for a senior role in the national government.
“Kalonzo aanze kufikiria… atafutiwe nafasi kubwa katika Kenya,” Farouk said, meaning “Kalonzo should start thinking… a big role should be found for him in Kenya.”
The remarks signal growing interest in Kalonzo’s future, with both warnings and invitations emerging from the Kenya Kwanza administration ahead of the 2027 elections.
