President William Ruto’s aide, Farouk Kibet, has issued a stern warning to individuals allegedly financing recent violent protests, stating that any attempts to destabilise the Kenya Kwanza government will fail. Speaking on Thursday during a women’s empowerment forum in Taita Taveta County, Kibet condemned the use of financial resources to fuel unrest, urging such funds be redirected towards economic empowerment initiatives, especially for women.
“Those using their money to fund violent protests will not succeed. The resources should be better channelled to helping women so that they can economically prosper,” he said. Kibet further emphasised that the government remains committed to serving all Kenyans, regardless of ethnic or political affiliation, under the banner of national unity.
“We will not allow violence to destabilise this government. We will serve Kenyans across the divide regardless of their tribe. We are one Kenya,” he added, reiterating the administration’s stand against tribalism and political divisions.
Echoing these sentiments, Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, who also attended the event, highlighted key development projects being rolled out in Taita Taveta County as part of the government’s broader strategy to spur economic growth and foster national cohesion.
Kindiki cited the ongoing construction of the Sh9.4 billion Taveta-Njukini-Chala-Rombo-Ilasit Road, a 66-kilometre stretch that will link Taita Taveta and Kajiado counties. According to the Deputy President, the road is expected to improve regional trade and enhance access to markets, thereby boosting livelihoods in the region.
In addition, Kindiki revealed that the government is in the final stages of establishing a land registry in Taveta Sub-county. The registry is intended to resolve long-standing land disputes and provide landowners with legal documentation, fostering peace and economic activity.
Both leaders called for unity, urging Kenyans to reject divisive politics and focus on development and inclusivity. The forum, which brought together national and local leaders, underscored the Kenya Kwanza administration’s resolve to deliver on its promises while ensuring peace and equity across the country.
