President William Ruto’s aide, Farouk Kibet, has said the opposition is losing momentum because it has focused on divisive politics instead of presenting alternative ideas for the country.
Speaking at PAG Tuiyogaa Church in Turbo Constituency, Uasin Gishu County, Farouk stressed that Kenyans want unity and development, not rhetoric that risks fueling tribal divisions.
“We need a united country in order to develop. Any attempts to divide Kenyans along tribal lines will not succeed,” he said.
Farouk dismissed opposition slogans such as “Kasongo must go,” arguing that citizens are more concerned with development than political chants. He affirmed that William Ruto is the legitimate president and continues to enjoy broad support.
He urged Kenyans to back government initiatives, especially enrollment in the Social Health Authority (SHA) scheme, which seeks to make healthcare more affordable for families.
Farouk also expressed confidence that President Ruto would secure a second term in office. However, he raised concerns about the rising abuse of drugs and illicit alcohol in the region, warning that the trend is damaging families and threatening youth. He called on security agencies to intensify crackdowns on vehicles ferrying illegal substances.
Farouk was accompanied by Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii, Turbo MP Janet Sitienei, and MCA Nicholas Rende. Governor Bii reiterated that the government is fully focused on development.
Uriri MP Mark Nyamita praised Ruto’s record, saying the administration has made significant progress in three years and that the opposition has not offered a credible alternative. He urged the media to highlight positive government achievements.
Sitienei called on residents to continue supporting the President, noting he is delivering on his promises.
The leaders concluded that Kenya’s future lies in unity, development, and rejecting divisive politics.
