Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua and his wife, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, were recently spotted enjoying a serene morning walk at Wheaton Regional Park in Baltimore, Maryland. The couple, dressed in light sportswear, were photographed walking side by side along a paved path surrounded by lush greenery and calm waters.
The photos, shared widely on social media, captured intimate moments of the couple during their stroll through the tree-lined park. In one image, they were seen seated on a stone bench beside a roadside stretch, deep in casual conversation. Another photo showed them walking deeper into a wooded section of the park, their backs turned to the camera, fully immersed in the natural setting.
“At Wheaton Regional Park, Baltimore, Maryland, with my wife, Pastor Dorcas, we enjoyed a refreshing morning walk,” Gachagua posted. “Nothing beats commitment to a cause. Greetings, my dear Kenyans. Have a blessed and fruitful day, head.”
Gachagua’s visit to the United States marks his first international trip since his political ouster in October last year. He is accompanied by Pastor Dorcas and a delegation from the DCP, as part of a broader effort to engage with the Kenyan diaspora and consolidate support ahead of the 2027 general election.
Upon arrival in the U.S., Gachagua received a warm reception, complete with a convoy of high-end vehicles including Chevrolet SUVs, Jeeps, and a Jeep Grand Cherokee — a reception likened to that of a head of state.
The tour, which spans several American cities between July and August, also saw Gachagua open a second satellite DCP office in Boston. He emphasized that the party remains grounded in the principles of listening to ordinary Kenyans and responding to their needs.
“For too long, the pleas of our people have been ignored. We are here to change that narrative,” Gachagua said during an earlier address. “The voice of the people will guide our path forward.”
Gachagua’s U.S. tour underscores his intention to rebrand politically and reconnect with Kenyans abroad as he sets sights on 2027.
