Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has publicly lauded his wife, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, during her ordination, describing her as the glue that has held their family together. The ordination ceremony took place on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Wamunyoro Farm in Nyeri County.
During the event, Gachagua emphasized how Pastor Dorcas’s ministry has been a source of blessing to him and their sons. “Pastor Dorcas is a blessing to my family; she is the glue that holds our family together; she is the matriarch in our small family, and all our lives revolve around her,” he said.
Gachagua reflected on having witnessed Dorcas’ unwavering dedication to the word of God since their earliest days together. “I stand with profound joy to honour my wife on this sacred occasion of her ordination. From the earliest days, I have witnessed her unwavering dedication to the word of God,” he added.
Beyond her sermons, the former deputy president praised Dorcas for her commitment to discipleship and her role as a teacher and shepherd within their family and wider community. “Not only in her sermons but also through the life she has led as a committed disciple, teacher, and shepherd within our family and inner community,” Gachagua stated.
He further acknowledged her contribution to society, highlighting her compassion for vulnerable groups. “Her ministry has been a beacon of hope and compassion, reaching those who have often been overlooked by society: widows, orphans, people living with disabilities, and particularly the boy child,” he noted.
Gachagua expressed pride in being a firsthand witness to his wife’s dedication and humility in serving others. “Our household was privileged to be among the first to receive her ministry, and I have witnessed firsthand the care, humility, and passion with which she has carried out her calling to serve others,” he said.
As Pastor Dorcas was officially ordained, Gachagua celebrated her integrity, faithfulness, and commitment to Christ’s service. “Today, as she is ordained before this congregation into the ministry, I am proud not only as a husband but also as a witness to her integrity, compassion, and her faithful service as she embodies the qualities befitting a servant of Christ,” he concluded.
