Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has promised that the Democratic Change Party (DCP) will hold free and fair nominations ahead of the 2027 elections.
He spoke on Saturday at his Mathira home, where he hosted more than 200 aspirants from different counties.
Equal Opportunity for All
Gachagua assured the leaders that the party will not favor any candidate. Instead, all aspirants will be judged on merit, commitment, and the choice of the electorate.
“We have no preference for any candidates whatsoever. We remain truly democratic and transparent. Every aspirant will be given an equal opportunity,” he said.
Commitment to Fairness
The Deputy President stressed that DCP’s guiding principle is fairness and inclusivity. He explained that the nomination process will allow the most capable and people-centered leaders to emerge.
“Our commitment is to a fair and inclusive process that upholds the values of our party and ensures the best leadership for our future,” he added.
Praise for Party Loyalty
Gachagua also praised the aspirants for their loyalty and their role in strengthening the party’s grassroots base. He highlighted their efforts during the recent membership drive, saying it showed commitment to entrenching DCP’s values across the country.
“I commend you for anchoring the philosophy of our party with dedication and integrity. Our strength lies in our people, and it is you, the aspirants, who carry the vision of a democratic future,” he noted.
Looking Ahead
The meeting brought together leaders from across Kenya, showing growing interest in DCP’s agenda ahead of the next general election. Gachagua’s assurance of transparency sets the tone for a competitive and democratic process in 2027.
