The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced short-term job opportunities ahead of the upcoming election. In a statement released this week, the electoral body revealed that successful applicants would earn daily wages ranging between Ksh1,000 and Ksh2,500, depending on their role.
According to the commission, the temporary staff will support critical election functions such as voter registration, logistics, voter education, and overall election management.
Among the key vacancies is that of Voter Registration Clerk, who will be stationed in the 57 Huduma Centres across the country. These clerks will update the voters’ register and assist Kenyans in the registration process, earning Ksh1,500 per day.
Other positions include:
- Polling and Counting Clerks – Ksh1,000 per day
- ICT Clerks – Ksh1,500 per day
- Ward-Based Voter Educators – Ksh1,500 per day
- Constituency Voter Educators – Ksh2,000 per day
- County Voter Educators – Ksh2,500 per day
- Presiding Officers & Electoral Trainers – Ksh2,000 per day
- Deputy Presiding Officers – Ksh1,800 per day
- Logistics Officers – Ksh1,500 per day
IEBC emphasized that interested candidates must meet specific requirements. Applicants should be Kenyan citizens of high integrity and non-partisan, hold at least a Degree or Diploma from a recognized institution, and be computer literate. They must also reside in the constituency or ward they are applying for and be available for the entire duration of the election exercise.
The commission has set the application deadline for October 16, 2025, with all applications to be submitted through the official IEBC online portal.
IEBC has urged applicants to carefully review the detailed job descriptions, responsibilities, and requirements available on the portal before applying.
