The Isiolo County government’s Director of Revenue Services, Ali Wako, has been reported missing for the third consecutive day after he was allegedly picked up by unidentified individuals on Wednesday evening from the Chechelesi area of Isiolo.
According to his family, Wako was last seen at his home before being taken away under unclear circumstances. Since then, frantic efforts to locate him have yielded no success, prompting growing concern among his loved ones and the wider community.
On Saturday, Wako’s family and concerned residents staged a peaceful demonstration, marching to the Isiolo County Commissioner’s office to demand answers and swift action from the authorities. The demonstrators carried placards and chanted slogans, expressing frustration over the delay in locating Wako and the lack of clear communication from security agencies.
Deputy County Commissioner Christopher Siele addressed the demonstrators and reassured the public that the government is doing everything possible to find Wako. “We are working closely with security agencies to ensure that Mr. Wako is found and returned safely to his family,” he said.
The circumstances surrounding Wako’s disappearance remain unclear, and investigations are ongoing. The incident has raised concerns over the safety of public officials in the region.
