Isiolo Governor Abdi Guyo has voiced deep concern over the disappearance of two men who were reportedly abducted under mysterious circumstances, calling for their immediate release and accountability. The missing individuals, Abdullahi Bosso and Ali Godana, were taken in separate incidents that have alarmed the local community and raised fears about a disturbing pattern of enforced disappearances.
Godana, the acting Director of Revenue at Isiolo County, was reportedly abducted at around 5pm last Saturday just outside his home by unknown individuals. This follows the earlier abduction of Bosso, who claimed to have been taken by people identifying themselves as security officers on Friday, May 9, 2025, along the Kinna-Kulamawe road at approximately 1pm.
Despite efforts to locate the men, their whereabouts remain unknown, leaving their families in distress and without any formal communication from authorities. Governor Guyo described the incidents as part of a “worrying pattern” that threatens not only individual safety but also the dignity and constitutional rights of all Kenyans.
“These are not isolated incidents,” Guyo stressed. “They represent a worrying pattern of enforced disappearances that threaten the safety, dignity, and constitutional rights of all Kenyans.” He expressed disappointment that such actions appear to contradict President William Ruto’s assurances that his administration would neither tolerate nor engage in abductions.
Governor Guyo demanded that Abdullahi Bosso be released immediately or presented before a court of law in accordance with Kenya’s constitutional guarantees of due process. Additionally, he urged authorities to disclose the whereabouts and condition of Ali Godana, emphasizing that families and the public deserve to know the fate of their loved ones.
The governor’s statements have reignited calls for transparency, respect for human rights, and accountability from security agencies amid growing national concern over enforced disappearances. The community and civil society groups continue to press the government to take urgent action to address these alarming violations.
