Isiolo South Member of Parliament Tubi Bidu Mohamed has passed away. The first-term lawmaker died on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, while receiving treatment at the Nairobi Hospital. His death was confirmed by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, who described the news as a “profound loss” to the country.
“Hon Members, as we come to terms with the great loss, let us remember Hon Tubi for his remarkable service and the positive impact he had on our nation,” Wetang’ula said in his tribute to the fallen MP.
Tubi joined the National Assembly after winning the Isiolo South seat on a Jubilee Party ticket during the August 2022 General Election. In Parliament, he served on the Departmental Committee on Environment, Forestry and Mining and the Public Petitions Committee, reflecting his lifelong passion for environmental conservation and sustainable development.
Before venturing into national politics, Tubi made his mark as the first Speaker of the Isiolo County Assembly from 2013 to 2017, where he was widely respected for his integrity, diligence, and commitment to strengthening devolution.
His long career in wildlife management began in the early 1990s. He served as Acting Warden and later Chief Game Warden under the Isiolo County Council before taking up senior positions in the Maasai Mara National Reserve and Samburu Park. His leadership in conservation deeply influenced his public service philosophy.
Tubi’s academic journey included studies at Isiolo Secondary School, a Diploma in Wildlife Management from the College of African Wildlife Management in Moshi, Tanzania, and a Bachelor of Arts in Community Development from Gretsa University in Thika.
Tubi Bidu Mohamed will be remembered as a dedicated public servant, environmentalist, and community leader whose life embodied service, integrity, and love for his people.
