Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF) has revealed its candidates for the November 27 by-elections. The party will contest two parliamentary seats and six ward positions.
In the parliamentary races, Samuel Kombe Nzai will run for Magarini Constituency in Kilifi County. Dayon Mbare will represent WPF in Kasipul Constituency, Homa Bay County.
Kalonzo said the party focuses on leadership based on service and integrity. “We are presenting candidates who reflect the hopes of their communities,” he said.
Ward-Level Candidates Announced
WPF has confirmed candidates in six wards:
- Mumbuni North, Machakos County – Anthony Kyalo Kisoi
- Purko, Narok County – Daniel Kiranti
- Nyansiongo, Nyamira County – Alex Obare Nyantika
- Ekerenyo, Nyamira County – Shem Makori Nyanumba
- Nanaam, Turkana County – Peter Lokelo
Nyamaiya Ward in Nyamira County will hold a nomination exercise between James Kamanda Teya and Daniel Mirambo.
Coalition Talks Underway
The party is in talks with coalition partners, including DAP-K, Jubilee, and UPA. The goal is to field a single candidate in key areas. “Together, we shall #KomboaKenya,” said Kalonzo.
Unveiling Ceremony
The event took place at WPF’s secretariat in Karen, Nairobi. Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti, Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi, and other party officials attended.
Upcoming By-Elections
Besides Magarini and Kasipul, by-elections will be held in Banissa, Malava, Mbeere North, Ugunja Constituencies, and the Baringo senatorial seat. Seventeen wards across the country will also vote, including Angata Nanyokie (Samburu), Chemundu/Kapng’etuny (Nandi), Kariobangi North (Nairobi), and multiple wards in Nyamira and Turkana counties.
WPF’s preparations highlight its determination to strengthen its presence and gain support ahead of the national elections.
