The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) has released the official shortlist of successful candidates for the positions of General Service Officer (GSO) Cadets, Specialist Officers, and Tradesmen and Women, marking a key milestone in the 2025 recruitment cycle.
In a public notice dated October 24, 2025, KDF announced that shortlisted individuals are required to report for interviews and selection exercises at designated venues and dates for the final phase of recruitment and vetting.
According to the schedule, candidates shortlisted for GSO Cadet (Regular) positions are to report to the Kenya Military Academy in Lanet, Nakuru, on Monday, December 1, 2025, at 8 a.m. Those in the GSO Cadet (Graduate) category will report to the same venue a week earlier, on Monday, November 24, 2025.
Meanwhile, Specialist Officers are expected to attend their interviews at Lanet on Monday, December 8, 2025, while Tradesmen and Women will report to the Ulinzi Sports Complex in Lang’ata, Nairobi, on Monday, November 3, 2025, also at 8 a.m.
KDF emphasized that all shortlisted candidates must present their original National Identification Card, academic and professional certificates, Curriculum Vitae, and four copies of each document during the interviews.
The Defence Forces assured applicants that food and accommodation will be provided for the duration of the interview period. Additionally, unsuccessful candidates will be reimbursed travel expenses in line with KDF regulations.
The KDF recruitment process, which is conducted annually, aims to ensure transparency, fairness, and professionalism in selecting the next generation of Kenya’s military officers and service members. Candidates are advised to carefully follow all reporting instructions and adhere to the provided timelines.
