Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has called for the speedy completion of government projects across the country, warning contractors against unnecessary delays that hinder the government’s development agenda.
Speaking on Monday during the Kuresoi North Constituency Economic Empowerment Engagement in Kuresoi Town, Nakuru County, Kindiki said the government is determined to deliver essential infrastructure and social amenities that will improve the quality of life for Kenyans.
“We are working hard to deliver roads, water, electricity, better healthcare, modern markets, and other projects. This is the development agenda we are fully focused on,” Kindiki said.
The Deputy President revealed that Nakuru County has received projects worth over Sh80 billion, including affordable housing, institutional hostels, and modern markets. He urged contractors to expedite their work to ensure timely completion and tangible benefits for citizens.
Citing the Kiambiriria-Chepsir Road, which connects Nakuru and Kericho counties, Kindiki expressed concern that only eight kilometers out of 40 have been completed. He vowed to personally follow up with the contractor to resolve the delays.
The DP also mentioned ongoing projects such as the Samburet-Kuresoi and Kuresoi-Chepseon roads, the Sh2.2 billion electricity expansion program, and 23 modern produce markets being constructed across Nakuru County. In Kuresoi North alone, Sh362 million has been allocated to connect 3,700 households to electricity, while two new markets are nearing completion in Seguton and Kamara towns.
Kindiki further assured residents that the government is addressing the long-standing issue of title deeds to ensure landowners receive proper documentation.
At the same event, he urged the opposition to abandon divisive tribal politics and instead focus on issue-based leadership, terming tribal incitement “retrogressive and useless.”
Kindiki was accompanied by several leaders, including Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot, Nakuru Deputy Governor David Kones, and MPs from Nakuru, Kericho, and neighboring counties.
