Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has emphasized that leadership in Kenya is ultimately determined by divine will, not by individuals who claim authority over political transitions. Speaking during a public rally in Kiambaa, Kiambu County, Kindiki urged citizens not to be intimidated by political figures who assert control over the country’s future leadership.
“Leadership is from God. Don’t be threatened by those saying they have the final say on leadership. It is God who has it,” Kindiki said, affirming his belief in a higher power guiding Kenya’s political journey.
The Deputy President used the occasion to reiterate the Kenya Kwanza administration’s commitment to equitable development and national progress. He noted that despite economic challenges inherited by the government, President William Ruto’s administration has made significant strides in reviving the economy and delivering on campaign promises.
“Our main agenda is to ensure Kenya develops. The government will ensure equitable development across the country. The economy is growing but we are still working on it as we anticipate to be examined in 2027,” Kindiki stated.
He expressed confidence that by the time Kenyans go to the polls in 2027, the Kenya Kwanza government will have proven its effectiveness through its track record.
Kindiki pointed to revived infrastructure projects and a revitalized agricultural sector as key indicators of progress. Roads in Kiambu and other counties that had stalled due to the Covid-19 pandemic are now being revived. Additionally, farmers in the dairy, tea, and coffee sectors are reaping better returns, with dairy farmers earning at least Sh50 per litre and some coffee farmers receiving up to Sh147 per kilogram of cherry.
He was accompanied by a host of political leaders, including National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah, Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot, Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii, and several MPs from across the country.
The gathering in Kiambaa served both as a show of political unity and a platform to reaffirm the administration’s agenda of development and service delivery, underlining the Kenya Kwanza coalition’s determination to earn the trust of Kenyans ahead of the 2027 general elections.
