Head of Public Service and Chief of Staff, Felix Koskei, has given public officers who missed the mandatory virtual training on tackling impunity a second opportunity to participate. The initiative is part of the government’s ongoing push to enhance discipline, efficiency, and accountability within the civil service.
The second wave of the mandatory Zoom sessions began on Monday and will run until Friday. Public officers who missed the initial sessions, held between November 3 and 7, are required to register for a day that suits them using the link provided in the official memo. Principal Administrative Secretary Arthur Osiya has urged supervisors to ensure that all staff who skipped the earlier sessions attend the ongoing training.
“Please remind staff that the virtual trainings on the Matrix of Lawful Consequences for Infractions in the Public Service will continue every day this week, from Monday, 17 to Friday, 21, at 2:00 pm,” Osiya said.
Attendance is mandatory, and participants must provide their names, designations, and the public entities they represent via the Zoom chat. The Office of the Head of Public Service will maintain a register of all attendees, with unspecified actions expected for those who skip the sessions again.
The training sessions reiterate public officers’ responsibilities in upholding integrity and adhering to lawful procedures while strengthening government efforts to curb inefficiency, corruption, and impunity.
Meanwhile, Koskei has commenced a working visit to London, United Kingdom, where he is engaging senior UK officials on governance reforms and bilateral cooperation. On Tuesday, he met with Sir Chris Wormald, Cabinet Secretary and Head of the UK Civil Service, at the Cabinet Office in Whitehall. The discussions focused on reviewing ongoing project partnerships and advancing governance reforms.
Over the coming days, Koskei’s delegation is set to meet officials from the UK Public Sector Fraud Authority, Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, Home Office, Ministry of Defence, and His Majesty’s Treasury, aiming to strengthen the Kenya-UK strategic partnership across multiple sectors.
