Chama Cha Kazi (CCK), led by former Presidential advisor Moses Kuria, has unveiled its candidates for the November 27, 2025 by-elections. The move signals the party’s intent to expand its political influence.
In Embu County, Daniel Ireri Mbui received the CCK nomination to contest for Member of the National Assembly (MNA) in Mbeere North Constituency.
Mbui recently left the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), calling it a “members’ club” within the so-called United Opposition. He initially planned to run as an independent candidate but later joined CCK. DCP had withdrawn from the race to support the Democratic Party (DP) candidate.
“This is to certify that Daniel Ireri Mbui has been duly nominated by Chama Cha Kazi to contest for the position of Member of National Assembly, Mbeere North Constituency, Embu County in the by-elections to be held on November 27, 2025,” the party said in a statement.
CCK is also targeting Nyamira County. Jackson Mogusu Mochumbe will contest for MCA in Nyasiongo Ward, Borabu Constituency. Richard Monyancha Omboto will run in Nyamaiya Ward, West Mugirango Constituency. Both nominations were confirmed by Kuria on his official social media accounts.
Political analysts say these by-elections are more than local contests. They provide an opportunity for parties to test their grassroots strength and build momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
With nomination certificates now in hand, CCK candidates will begin full-scale campaigns. Voters can expect competitive races in Embu and Nyamira, highlighting the party’s strategy to consolidate support.
The November by-elections are shaping up as a high-stakes political test for both CCK and its aspirants.
