The United Green Movement (UGM) Party, led by former Chief Justice David Maraga, has officially opened a new regional office in Mombasa as part of its nationwide expansion strategy ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during the launch on Friday, Maraga described the move as a major milestone in strengthening UGM’s grassroots presence and coordination across the coastal region. The Mombasa office, he said, will serve as a key coordination centre for the party’s activities in the Coast.
“Today, I presided over the opening of our UGM Party Mombasa county office,” Maraga said in a post on his official X account, sharing photos of the event. He added that the office marks a step toward establishing a functional party network in every county.
The former Chief Justice also revealed that the party plans to open another regional office in Kilifi County soon, further cementing UGM’s footprint across the region.
“We are determined to have our presence in all 47 counties and the Diaspora as we strive to reset, restore, and build our beloved Kenya under our Ukatiba philosophy,” Maraga stated.
In recent months, Maraga has intensified his countrywide tours, drawing growing interest from younger voters, especially from Generation Z. His outreach strategy has focused on encouraging civic participation and empowering youth to engage in leadership and governance.
With the voter registration exercise currently underway, Maraga urged young Kenyans to register as voters and take an active role in shaping the country’s future.
The Mombasa office launch underscores UGM’s ambition to become a competitive national party by 2027, positioning Maraga as a fresh political force advocating integrity, constitutionalism, and grassroots empowerment.
