Nyali Member of Parliament Mohamed Ali, also known as Jicho Pevu, has strongly criticized United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General Hassan Omar. The clash comes after Omar made scathing remarks about Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro.
Mohamed Ali’s Response
On Friday, September 12, 2025, Ali took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his frustration. He said Omar’s comments were unnecessary and damaging to the party.
“Unbelievable remarks by the so-called Secretary General of a party we once held high hopes for! This is not politics of economy, my friend, this is sheer politics of power. Kenyans today and their generations to come will remember you for it, and history will not treat you kindly,” he wrote.
Ali warned Omar that political power does not last forever. He also reminded him that leadership without connection to the people is bound to fail.
“Power that’s blind to people’s plight is bound to diminish when people rise. Maskini akipata matako hulia mbwata!” Ali added.
Hassan Omar’s Defense
Earlier, Omar had defended the government’s borrowing policy. He said loans were being used to complete projects in areas that had been ignored for years.
“All roads that had stalled are now ongoing. Then you hear a small boy called Nyoro crying that Kenya’s debt has skyrocketed,” Omar said.
He accused Nyoro of being silent on debt when he chaired the National Assembly Budget and Appropriations Committee, but now raising concerns after losing the position.
Cracks in UDA Party
The public confrontation highlights widening divisions in the UDA party. Leaders are openly disagreeing on debt, development, and the future of the government.
The heated debate also raises questions about party unity ahead of the 2027 elections. As economic challenges deepen, the ruling party is likely to face more internal battles.
