Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Musalia Mudavadi, has declared that President William Ruto’s re-election in 2027 is all but assured, citing the Head of State’s expanding political base and key alliances.
Speaking during the burial of corporate icon Mzee Aggrey Luseno in Vihiga County, Mudavadi told residents of Western Kenya that defeating Ruto would be “very difficult” due to his firm grip on national politics and inclusive leadership approach. He called for unity and support from the region, urging locals to align with the president’s development agenda.
“I have been in politics for a long time, and I have looked at it again, and I want to tell you it will be very difficult to beat William Ruto in 2027,” Mudavadi asserted.
He emphasized the strategic importance of the Ruto-Raila Odinga alliance, terming it a symbol of political maturity and national cohesion. “Raila Odinga is a person whose faculties are intact. As ODM leader, he made a deliberate choice to work with Kenya Kwanza. This shows leadership maturity. We must stop seeing politics in black and white,” Mudavadi said.
The Prime CS referenced his past political moves including the formation of NASA in 2017 and his 2022 “Earthquake” declaration as proof of his foresight, encouraging the Western region to trust his judgment once again as the country edges closer to the next elections.
“In 2022, many doubted me, but those who went the other way are now joining us. We must stay ahead of the curve,” he noted.
Mudavadi also took a swipe at former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who has recently criticized the administration. “When someone is impeached, he has no business going around and misleading Kenyans. The interests of the nation must come first,” he said.
He concluded by calling for unity across all communities, affirming that State House remains open to all Kenyans and that President Ruto means well for every citizen.
