Prime Cabinet Secretary (PCS) Musalia Mudavadi has urged the Kenya Kwanza administration to accelerate the delivery of its promises as the country approaches the 2027 General Election. With just 20 months remaining, Mudavadi emphasized the importance of translating government commitments under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) into tangible benefits for citizens.
Speaking during the 2nd joint Cabinet and National Development Implementation Committee (NDIC) meeting of 2025 at the Kenya School of Government, Mudavadi described the committee as the “engine room of Government delivery,” ensuring coordination, accountability, and visible results.
“We are now about 20 months away from the August 2027 elections. This is a critical phase for the Administration to deliver on its promises under the BETA Plan,” he said, stressing that public expectations are higher than ever.
Mudavadi highlighted achievements in health and education but noted that the public has not fully felt their impact due to poor communication strategies. He urged the government to improve messaging, emphasizing that repeated communication is key to public understanding.
In healthcare, Mudavadi praised the Taifa Care Universal Health Coverage (UHC) programme, which has expanded membership from 8 million in 2022 to over 27 million in 2025, representing a 240% increase. He noted that over 6.4 million Kenyans now contribute an average of Sh592 monthly, with 86% paying less than Sh1,000, allowing them access to free healthcare services.
In education, Mudavadi pointed to the school feeding programme as a game-changer. The programme has increased school enrollment from 2.2 million learners in 2022 to 2.6 million in 2025, alongside the construction of 23,000 classrooms and employment of 76,000 teachers, helping improve retention and transition rates across counties.
Mudavadi concluded by emphasizing urgency in service delivery, stating that the next phase of the administration should focus on turning government promises into measurable results that improve the lives of all Kenyans.
