The National Police Service (NPS) has officially announced a new recruitment date for police constables, with the nationwide exercise set for November 17, 2025, across all sub-counties in Kenya.
Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja confirmed the date, emphasizing that the recruitment process will be free, transparent, and merit-based. He warned the public against engaging in bribery or corruption during the exercise, noting that offenders will face legal consequences.
According to the NPS, all applicants must meet specific minimum requirements. Candidates must be Kenyan citizens aged between 18 and 28 years, hold a valid national ID, and have a KCSE mean grade of at least D+, including a minimum D+ in English or Kiswahili. Applicants must also be physically and medically fit, with a minimum height of 5ft 8in for men and 5ft 3in for women. Female candidates must not be pregnant at the time of recruitment or during training.
Individuals with criminal records or pending charges will be automatically disqualified. However, National Youth Service (NYS) graduates who meet the minimum qualifications are encouraged to apply.
Application forms can be downloaded from official police websites, including the NPS, DCI, and Administration Police (AP) portals. The forms will also be available at Huduma Centres nationwide.
On the recruitment day, applicants must report to their designated centres by 8:00 a.m. with original and photocopies of their academic certificates, ID cards, birth certificates, and, if applicable, NYS discharge certificates with a “GOOD” conduct rating.
Recruitment centres have been established in all counties, including Kasarani Moi Sports Centre and Kamukunji Grounds in Nairobi, Kisauni Police Headquarters in Mombasa, Kenyatta Grounds in Kisumu, and Afraha Stadium in Nakuru.
For more details, applicants are urged to visit the official NPS website or contact their nearest police station.
