The Nairobi City County Government has announced a temporary closure of City Hall Way this weekend to facilitate the launch of the Coca-Cola Christmas Caravan.
According to a statement released on Friday by the County Secretary and Head of County Public Service, the affected section of the road will stretch from Parliament Road to Wabera Street. The closure will begin at 9:00 PM on Friday, November 21, and is expected to last until 11:59 PM on Saturday, November 22, 2025.
“The temporary closure is necessary to allow full access to the road and surrounding spaces for the activation and launch of the Coca-Cola Christmas Caravan,” the County Secretary said.
Motorists and pedestrians have been urged to cooperate with traffic officers and marshals deployed in the area. The county advised the public to follow the guidance of on-site traffic marshals to ensure smooth movement and safety throughout the event.
“We regret any inconvenience caused and thank the public for their patience and understanding as we support this festive activation,” the County Secretary added.
Normal traffic flow is expected to resume immediately after the event concludes on Saturday night.
This is not the first time City Hall Way has been closed for a major event. In September, the road was closed from 7:00 AM on September 27 until 4:00 AM on September 28 to accommodate the Kenny G concert at Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).
Residents and commuters are advised to plan their routes accordingly and consider alternative roads to avoid delays during the closure. The Coca-Cola Christmas Caravan is expected to attract large crowds, marking the start of festive celebrations in Nairobi.
