The National Police Service (NPS) has announced key updates to the upcoming nationwide recruitment of police constables set for Monday, November 17, 2025.
In a notice signed by Inspector General (IG) Douglas Kanja, NPS clarified that while the recruitment will proceed as earlier planned, several adjustments have been made to the list of recruitment centres across the country. The announcement follows the initial advertisement published on October 31, 2025, in various media outlets.
One of the main changes is the inclusion of an additional recruitment venue at the National Youth Service (NYS) Headquarters in Ruaraka, Nairobi County. This centre had been inadvertently omitted in the earlier communication. Ex-NYS candidates may now choose to report either to their respective home sub-county centres or to the Ruaraka venue.
Further corrections were also made to recruitment centres in Kajiado and Narok counties. In Kajiado, the Kajiado West sub-county recruitment will take place at Ole Polos, while the Elangata Wuas sub-county exercise will be held at the DCC’s Office in Elangata Wuas. In Narok County, the Narok West sub-county centre has been corrected to Ng’osuani Centre.
“All other information contained in the earlier advertisement remains unchanged,” the notice dated November 7 stated.
The recruitment, which will be conducted across 422 designated centres nationwide, is part of efforts to strengthen Kenya’s policing capacity and ensure improved security services. All applicants are required to report to their respective venues by 8 a.m.
The IG emphasized that the recruitment process will be free, fair, and transparent, supervised by senior police officers and government representatives. Applicants must be Kenyan citizens aged 18–28, possess a KCSE mean grade of D+, and be physically and medically fit.
