Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has called for greater peace, dialogue, and tolerance in response to the growing global conflicts that continue to disrupt lives worldwide. In his Easter message, Mudavadi underscored the importance of peaceful conflict resolution and emphasized the critical need for humanitarian support in regions affected by war.
Mudavadi highlighted the ongoing crises in Sudan and the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where escalating violence has led to immense suffering. He reflected on his recent visit to London, where he reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to mediation efforts and providing humanitarian assistance. He stressed the necessity of dialogue over warfare, asserting that Kenya’s approach to resolving conflicts remains rooted in peaceful engagement rather than the use of force.
“We must keep faith that peace is possible because we have seen what is possible when we refuse to give up on each other,” Mudavadi said. His statement resonated with the belief that peace is achievable through persistence, patience, and a willingness to work towards understanding and reconciliation.
The Prime Cabinet Secretary also pointed out the importance of fostering tolerance and compassion, especially in times of crisis. “Tolerance, not fear, is the basis of true security,” Mudavadi explained, advocating for the protection of shared humanity across borders. He called on individuals and nations to act with urgency and empathy, particularly for children who are displaced by conflict and long for the safety of classrooms over refugee camps.
Mudavadi’s message also stressed Kenya’s role in supporting international peacekeeping initiatives and promoting regional cooperation. “In the spirit of Easter, let us be instruments of peace,” he urged, encouraging people to listen more, forgive quickly, and work daily to heal divisions.
As the world grapples with rising tensions, Mudavadi’s call for peaceful dialogue and collective responsibility serves as a reminder of the power of unity and compassion in overcoming conflict. Kenya’s advocacy for peace continues to resonate globally, offering hope for a more peaceful and cooperative future.
