The National Police Service (NPS) has officially received the body of Corporal Kennedy Mutuku Nzuve, who tragically lost his life while serving in Haiti. The solemn event took place on Friday evening at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), where police commanders, colleagues, and family members gathered to honor the fallen officer.
Corporal Nzuve passed away on 1st September 2025 following a road traffic accident in Haiti while serving under the Multinational Security Support Mission (MSSM). His death is a major blow to the police fraternity and the mission team, who have described him as a dedicated and selfless officer committed to duty.
The reception ceremony was led by the Commandant of the National Police College Embakasi ‘A’ Campus, Isaac Alimaa, SAIG, alongside other senior police commanders. The late officer’s family, led by his mother, Serah Nzuve, was also present to receive his body. The atmosphere was heavy with grief as colleagues and relatives stood in solidarity, offering comfort to the bereaved family.
In a statement, the National Police Service conveyed its deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Corporal Nzuve.
“The NPS conveys its deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the fallen officer and assures them of its unwavering support during this period of profound sorrow,” the statement read.
Following the reception at JKIA, the body was transferred to Chiromo Mortuary for preservation as burial preparations continue. The NPS confirmed that detailed burial arrangements will be announced later.
Corporal Nzuve’s passing highlights the risks faced by Kenyan officers serving in international peace and security missions. His service and sacrifice will be remembered as a mark of courage and patriotism.
