Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni is expected to arrive in Kenya today, Wednesday, for an official visit aimed at strengthening ties between the two neighbouring nations. President Museveni will be received by President William Ruto at State House, Nairobi, from 10:00 a.m., where the two leaders will hold high-level discussions.
The visit comes at a critical time when Kenya and Uganda continue to play pivotal roles in promoting regional peace, stability, and economic integration within the East African Community (EAC). The leaders are expected to deliberate on a range of issues including cross-border trade, security cooperation, infrastructure development, and energy partnerships.
A key agenda item is the enhancement of regional integration, with both presidents keen to deepen collaboration that benefits citizens across East Africa. The meeting is also expected to explore new avenues of cooperation, including in technology, agriculture, and transport.
President Museveni’s visit underscores the long-standing historical and diplomatic ties between Uganda and Kenya, with both countries sharing not only a border but mutual interests in economic growth and regional stability. Analysts view the visit as a significant step toward consolidating efforts to address regional challenges through unity and shared development goals.
