President William Ruto is set to embark on a two-day development tour of Narok County beginning Tuesday, following a consultative meeting with local leaders at State House on Friday. The meeting, attended by key stakeholders including Defence Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya, Narok Governor Patrick Ntutu, and various Members of Parliament and county assembly, focused on strengthening collaboration between the national and county governments.
“Our meeting focused on development projects, fostering cohesion, and enhancing collaboration between the National and County governments,” President Ruto stated. “We are working with all leaders, including those from different political affiliations, to move our country forward.”
The tour will cover several constituencies including Emurua Dikirr, Narok West, Narok South, and Kilgoris. In Emurua Dikirr, Ruto will oversee the issuance of land title deeds—a long-awaited step for residents seeking land ownership security. He will also launch the construction of the Shartuka-Gorgor road, a key infrastructure project expected to improve connectivity and access to markets.
In Narok South, the president will inaugurate multiple high-impact projects. These include the 30-kilometre Sogoo-Melelo-Olulung’a road at a cost of Sh3.8 billion, the Sh300 million Sogoo Level 4 Hospital to enhance healthcare access, and the Sh30 million Amalo Sub-County Administration Offices aimed at boosting administrative efficiency.
Narok West will see the launch of the 63km Ngosuani-Morjo road, a Sh4.8 billion investment anticipated to transform local transport and trade. Additionally, Ruto will inspect ongoing works at the Sh40 million Narok West Deputy County Commissioner’s offices.
The president is also expected to make a stop in Kilgoris constituency during the tour. This visit comes after earlier engagements with Maa community governors on development and security concerns in the region.
The development tour, initially scheduled for last month but postponed, underscores Ruto’s continued push to implement tangible development projects across the country and foster unity across political divides.
With a strong focus on infrastructure, healthcare, and governance, the president’s visit signals renewed efforts to address long-standing challenges in Narok and deliver on the government’s bottom-up economic transformation agenda.
