Former Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju has said he would decline any job offer from President William Ruto.
Speaking on TV47, Tuju said he is satisfied with his private life and enjoys speaking freely without political constraints.
“I’m very happy where I’m at the moment. I enjoy a private life, doing the things I like and being able to talk without worrying about government or opposition positions,” he said.
When asked if he would accept a government position, Tuju was firm:
“No, I won’t take it. I don’t need a job.”
Focusing on Business, Not Politics
Tuju said he is currently focused on managing his businesses, which employ more than 100 people. He admitted that his companies struggled during his time in politics.
“I create jobs, so I will only do things I want to do. I’m not looking for a job to get a salary or make deals,” he explained.
Not Returning to Jubilee
Asked whether he would return to Jubilee if invited by former President Uhuru Kenyatta, Tuju said politics is now about the country, not party affiliations.
“It’s no longer about party; it’s about the country. The priority is ensuring credible and peaceful elections,” he said.
Warning Against Unconstitutional Actions
Tuju also cautioned against violent or unconstitutional attempts to remove a government, citing examples like Somalia and Sudan.
“It’s very important to have a peaceful, constitutional change of government,” he said.
Tuju’s remarks show a clear decision to stay out of politics and focus on business and private life while encouraging stability in Kenya.
