Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Human Capital Development, and Special Programs, Geoffrey Ruku, has reaffirmed the Kenya Kwanza government’s focus on delivering tangible development to Kenyans, stating that President William Ruto will not be distracted by political noise.
Speaking during a Development Day event at Gatunga Boys Secondary School in Tharaka Nithi County, CS Ruku emphasized that the administration is prioritizing infrastructure and service delivery across the country, in line with the promises made during the 2022 campaign.
“The President is too focused on driving development to waste time responding to busybodies and empty rhetoric,” Ruku told residents. “Our mission is to fulfill the promises made to Kenyans, not to be sidetracked by non-constructive criticism.”
Among the key projects mentioned was the long-awaited Ciakariga–Irundini road, which he confirmed is scheduled for construction. The CS assured residents that stalled projects in Tharaka Nithi and other parts of the country will be revived and completed under President Ruto’s leadership.
Ruku further revealed that both President Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua are expected to tour the Mt. Kenya East region soon to launch new initiatives and breathe life into development programs that had stalled in past administrations.
“This government is committed to ensuring that no region is left behind. The people of Tharaka Nithi can expect more investments and improved infrastructure,” Ruku said, noting that the administration views equitable development as a cornerstone of national unity.
He commended residents for their continued support of the government, assuring them that both the resources and the political goodwill exist to drive transformative change.
“Our focus is service delivery. We want Kenyans to feel the impact of government through improved infrastructure, better social services, and expanded opportunities,” he said.
Ruku’s remarks come at a time when the Ruto administration is under pressure to demonstrate concrete results amid rising living costs and political criticism. By highlighting projects such as the Ciakariga–Irundini road and planned regional tours, the government is seeking to reassure citizens that its development agenda remains firmly on track.
