President Dr. William Samoei Ruto is set to embark on a four-day development tour of the Ukambani region beginning Wednesday, November 12, 2025, covering Makueni, Kitui, and Machakos counties.
The long-awaited tour, which was initially scheduled for April before being postponed to October, will now take place in November, with a packed itinerary focused on infrastructure, housing, and regional development projects under the government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
The President will kick off the tour in Makueni County, where he is expected to commission several key projects. In Kilome Constituency, he will inaugurate the newly completed Mikuyu Bridge, a vital infrastructure link aimed at enhancing connectivity and local trade. He will then move to Kibwezi West for the official launch of the Emali–Ukia Road, a major transport project expected to boost business activity within the region. Later, the President will inspect the Wote Affordable Housing Project, emphasizing his administration’s commitment to affordable housing for all Kenyans.
On Thursday, President Ruto’s focus will shift to Kitui County, where he is scheduled to preside over engagements in five constituencies. The key highlights will include the commissioning of the Ithookwe Stadium and the Kitui Airstrip, both expected to boost sports development and regional air connectivity.
The tour will continue on Friday in Machakos County, where the President will launch the Kangundo–Mwala Road and commission the Kivandini–Miseleni Road in Mwala. He will also open the Machakos Affordable Housing Project in Machakos Town.
The four-day visit will conclude on Saturday with a leaders’ meeting bringing together elected leaders, opinion shapers, and local stakeholders from the three counties to discuss ongoing and future development priorities.
