Murang’a Senator Joe Nyutu has dared the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) to expel him from the party, saying he will not leave unless it is on his own terms. Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV on Thursday, October 30, Nyutu boldly stated that his loyalty to UDA remains intact—unless he personally decides otherwise.
“If UDA is not happy with Nyutu being a Senator member in Murang’a, let UDA remove me from their list of members,” he declared.
The outspoken senator went further to challenge Nyando MP Jared Okello and Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei to report him to President William Ruto, the UDA party leader.
“I challenge both Members of Parliament for Nyando Constituency, Jared Okello and Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei, to go tell the party leader of UDA, President William Ruto, to remove me. We are waiting,” Nyutu said.
Nyutu, who was recently removed as chair of the Senate Education Committee, said he has endured political turbulence before and is ready for more. “I will leave UDA when I want, but they want me to leave earlier. Tell the party leader to remove me. I will be more than glad; I survived being removed as chair of education,” he added.
In a surprising twist, Nyutu accused President Ruto of plotting to take over the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party, claiming the Head of State intends to use it as a political vehicle for his re-election campaign in 2027.
“President William Ruto has many plans to inherit ODM or use the party for his re-election. This is because he is desperate, and I will not be surprised if they choose to join ODM,” the senator claimed.
Nyutu further argued that Ruto’s desperation stems from his lack of firm grounding in UDA during the last election. “He thought he was too strong and smart, but he got a shock when his new partners did not embrace UDA as expected,” Nyutu concluded.
