Nakuru Senator Tabitha Keroche has firmly dismissed social media rumours alleging she is unwell and hospitalised in London, calling the claims “fake news” and a deliberate smear campaign.
Speaking through her official social media platforms on Friday, Senator Tabitha clarified that while she is currently in London, it is solely for a short vacation during the Senate’s recess, which began on April 18. She emphasised that she is in excellent health and is simply taking a brief break from her busy schedule.
“I thank God I am not sick, I am not in hospital, and I have not been hospitalised,” she stated. “I have taken this opportunity to step away for a brief vacation here in London. I am in excellent health, full of energy, and fully prepared to resume my oversight duties next week.”
The senator condemned the circulation of what she described as “baseless and unfounded rumours,” pointing fingers at certain paid bloggers and social media influencers who she said are being used to propagate misinformation for political reasons.
“These rumours have caused unnecessary concern and panic among the people of Nakuru County,” she said, calling on those responsible to stop spreading lies and instead focus their resources on meaningful development initiatives that benefit the public.
Senator Tabitha also spoke out against the inhumane nature of wishing others terminal illness for political gain, describing such behaviour as morally bankrupt and unacceptable in a civilized society.
“No amount of intimidation will deter me from executing my roles in oversight, representation, and legislation,” she affirmed. “I strongly condemn those who wish others a terminal illness for political gain. Such acts are inhumane, deeply saddening, and have no place in a civilized society.”
The Senator concluded by reassuring the people of Nakuru County of her unwavering commitment to her constitutional responsibilities and thanked them for their continued support.
“Thank you, and may God bless the great people of Nakuru County,” she said.
