Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has launched a unique empowerment initiative by donating dairy cows to area chiefs in his constituency. The move, he said, is aimed at uplifting local administrators and inspiring residents to embrace farming as a reliable source of income.
Speaking during the handover on Saturday morning, Sudi noted that the dairy animals would not only provide an additional revenue stream for the chiefs and their families but also enable them to focus on their duties with dignity.
“These leaders are at the heart of our communities. By supporting them with such resources, we ensure they can serve our people effectively while also improving their livelihoods,” he said.
The lawmaker expressed confidence that the initiative would have a ripple effect across Kapseret. According to him, chiefs are expected to set the pace for the rest of the community by venturing into agriculture, thereby showcasing farming as a sustainable path to economic growth.
Local administrators present at the event welcomed the gesture, describing it as both symbolic and practical. They said the livestock would not only improve household food security but also serve as a strong example to residents considering investing in livestock keeping.
Sudi pledged to roll out more empowerment projects targeting different groups in the constituency. He highlighted recent initiatives aimed at supporting youth and women as part of his broader agenda to strengthen grassroots development.
“As we empower our chiefs, we are also empowering the entire community. My commitment is to continue supporting our people so that they can deliver on their mandates and serve the nation with dedication,” he added.
The donation underscores Sudi’s strategy of blending leadership support with community empowerment. By placing agriculture at the center of his development agenda, the Kapseret MP hopes to encourage more households to embrace farming as a tool for growth and resilience.
