Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has cautioned Nyali lawmaker Mohamed Ali, better known as Moha Jicho Pevu, against aligning himself with Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, warning that such a move could sabotage his political career.
In a statement on his official X account on Saturday, September 4, Sudi described Ali as an opportunist, questioning what Gachagua could possibly offer him in terms of mentorship. The Kapseret MP claimed that the Deputy President lacks the competence and wisdom required to guide emerging politicians.
“I wonder how Gachagua, who failed to advise himself, can now purport to mentor Mohamed Ali. The problem with Ali is that he thought when we formed this government, he’d get a place to get free money, unaware that the government has its procedures,” Sudi wrote.
Sudi’s remarks came shortly after Gachagua revealed that he had met with Ali and was mentoring him in his political journey. The DP described the Nyali MP as a “young, talented leader” who had endured a difficult year recovering from a knee injury that required multiple surgeries.
“I thank God for healing my great friend Hon Mohamed Ali, aka Jicho Pevu, who has struggled with a serious knee injury for almost a year,” Gachagua stated. “It was great to spend my Saturday with Moha catching up from our days in the 12th Parliament.”
Gachagua added that Ali’s political insight would be crucial in helping to mobilise the coastal region, which he said has long suffered from economic and political neglect.
“The people of the Coast Region are hard-hit by economic mismanagement and the collapse of key sectors. This pain and anguish will come to an end on the ballot in August 2027,” Gachagua asserted.
Sudi’s comments underscore the deepening political divisions within Kenya Kwanza, as leaders jostle for influence ahead of the 2027 general elections.
