Former Speaker of the National Assembly, Justin Muturi, marked a defining moment in his public life with the launch of his new book, The Fight for Order, at the Nairobi Club on Friday. The event brought together political leaders from across the divide, scholars, and citizens united by a shared interest in Kenya’s governance journey.
Muturi described the book as more than just a personal reflection, calling it “a mirror of our collective journey as a nation our struggles, lessons, and ongoing quest to build a functional and just society.” He expressed gratitude to all the dignitaries present, including prominent opposition figures who turned up to celebrate his literary milestone.
Among the attendees were former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i, and Democratic Action Party (DAP-K) leader Eugene Wamalwa.
Gachagua commended Muturi for his principled leadership, saying, “JB Muturi’s story reminds us that leadership is not only about power, but about principle — holding firm when institutions are tested and prioritising service above self.”
Matiang’i praised Muturi’s work for enriching Kenya’s political discourse, noting, “We reflected on leadership, unity, and the ongoing efforts to improve governance in line with the Constitution.”
Kalonzo lauded Muturi’s book as “an important guide for current and future leaders,” while Martha Karua shared her congratulations on social media, writing, “Congrats, my brother, JB Muturi.”
Wamalwa highlighted Muturi’s lifelong dedication to public service, appreciating his journey “from magistrate to Speaker, and now as a voice of wisdom in governance.”
The event not only celebrated Muturi’s literary achievement but also underscored the spirit of unity and dialogue among Kenya’s opposition leaders in their shared pursuit of accountable governance.
