Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has strongly declared her support for Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka in the 2027 presidential race.
Speaking on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at AIC Kasina Church in Mlolongo, Ndeti warned opposition leaders against using Kalonzo as a bridge to advance their own political ambitions. She was joined at the service by Kalonzo and Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) leader Eugene Wamalwa.
“By the grace of God, you will be the next president of the Republic of Kenya,” she said. “That era of using Honorable Kalonzo to cross over every election cycle is over.”
Calls for Fair Politics
Ndeti urged politicians to fight for their own space in the political arena instead of riding on Kalonzo’s influence. She assured Kalonzo that her team is fully behind him and will support his bid for the presidency.
“Our focus is you,” she added. “We know you are clean, and though people try to discredit you, you have always proved them wrong. Stand with us, and we will stand with you.”
Opposition Unity Ahead of 2027
Kalonzo, alongside Wamalwa, is part of a united opposition team that also includes former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i, and Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua.
The alliance has committed to producing a single candidate to face President William Ruto in 2027. Whether that candidate will be Kalonzo, Matiang’i, Karua, or Gachagua remains to be seen.
For Ndeti, however, the decision is already made she believes Kalonzo Musyoka is the best bet to lead the opposition to victory.
