Police have launched investigations into the death of a 14-year-old Grade Nine pupil who succumbed to injuries after an assault at a boarding school in Narok Town.
The tragic incident occurred at Narok SDA School on Sunday, August 31, 2025. According to preliminary reports, the boy was discovered by his fellow dormitory mates lying on his bed with a deep cut on his neck and severe bleeding. Bloodstains were also spotted in several areas within the school compound, including the boys’ toilet, a bench outside the dormitory, and the clothesline section.
The injured boy was rushed to Narok Referral Hospital in critical condition but later died while receiving treatment. His body was transferred to the local mortuary pending a postmortem examination to establish the exact cause of death.
Following the incident, authorities temporarily shut down the school on Monday to allow detectives to conduct thorough investigations. A security guard who was on duty during the night of the assault was detained for questioning as part of the probe.
Tensions rose within the school and the surrounding community after word of the pupil’s death spread. In a separate development, one of the dormitories was set on fire by unknown individuals, sparking further chaos. Parents and members of the local community stormed the school premises demanding answers over the death. Firefighters managed to contain the blaze before it spread to other structures.
Police confirmed they are treating the matter as a possible murder case and have assured parents and the community of a comprehensive investigation to bring the culprits to justice.
