Three suspected members of a notorious criminal gang have been arrested following a police raid in Lunga Lunga Township, Kwale County. The operation was conducted after authorities received credible intelligence from the public about suspicious activity in the Ngeneni area.
Responding swiftly, officers from Lunga Lunga Police Station raided a single-room house believed to be used as a hideout by the gang members. Inside, the suspects were found armed with machetes and reportedly smoking cannabis sativa at the time of their arrest.
One of the individuals arrested is believed to be a key member of the gang and is wanted for murder, with an active arrest warrant issued against him. Authorities have also linked the trio to a series of violent crimes committed in the region.
A thorough search of the premises uncovered approximately 257 grams of cannabis sativa, five machetes, and a black motorcycle bearing Tanzanian registration number MC890. Police suspect the motorcycle has been used in multiple criminal incidents.
The three suspects were arrested at the scene and are currently in custody as investigations continue. They are expected to be arraigned in court in the coming days.
