A local administrator in Gatundu South, Kiambu County, who was wanted by the authorities for allegedly drugging and sodomising two underage boys, has been found dead. The incident, which occurred on April 20, 2025, led to a police investigation and a manhunt for the assistant chief, whose actions shocked the community.
On May 1, 2025, it was reported that the assistant chief’s wife discovered his body at their home. She had been at a clinic and, upon returning, found the house locked from the inside. Concerned, she contacted her brother-in-law, and together they managed to gain entry by breaking the lock. Inside, they found the assistant chief’s body hanging from the roof. Police were called to the scene, and his body was removed and taken to Kenyatta University Funeral Home for examination. The authorities have confirmed that the case is now closed, citing the tragic turn of events where the victims will not receive justice.
According to police reports, the allegations stemmed from an encounter between the assistant chief and three boys who had gone to his home to deliver milk. The assistant chief reportedly invited the boys into a separate house and offered them muratina, a traditional alcoholic brew. After two of the boys left to check on a neighbor, one remained behind. This boy later reported that he had lost consciousness after drinking the muratina and woke up confused and in physical distress at his home, covered in mud. A medical examination confirmed that he had been sexually assaulted. The boy reported the incident to the police, leading to a formal investigation.
Later that evening, the assistant chief allegedly followed the remaining boys to a nearby compound, where one of them claimed the administrator approached him with inappropriate questions and conduct. The boy managed to escape from the situation and subsequently provided a statement to the police. The authorities had been searching for the assistant chief since the allegations surfaced, but the search came to a tragic end with his death.
The local police have expressed their regret over the situation, stating that the case is now closed and stressing the importance of reporting such incidents to the authorities in a timely manner. Despite the administrator’s death, many are left grappling with the horror of the alleged abuse, which has deeply affected the community.
