Detectives are investigating the shocking discovery of a woman’s decomposed body in Ngong Forest, Nairobi. The body was discovered on October 3, 2025, by a team passing through the forest. Police confirmed that the remains were in an advanced state of decomposition and were later taken to a mortuary for autopsy and identification. The motive behind the murder remains unclear, as investigators continue to piece together the events leading to the victim’s death.
The incident adds to a worrying rise in murder cases reported in various parts of the country. In Riruta, Nairobi, a man identified as Solomon Kaumbi was found dead on a sofa at a friend’s house where he had sought shelter. According to police, Kaumbi had arrived at the home on Saturday morning, bleeding but seemingly unaware of the seriousness of his injuries. His host, unaware of the situation, allowed him to rest. By morning, Kaumbi was found lifeless, with his clothes soaked in blood and a stab wound on his right thigh. Authorities have since launched investigations to determine the circumstances of his death.
In a separate incident in the Ngong area, Esther Wakabari, aged 26, was found dead in her bed with a deep cut on her right toe and blood oozing from her nose. Police suspect foul play and are treating the matter as a homicide. The motive for the killing remains unknown, and her body has been moved to a local mortuary pending further examination.
Elsewhere, in Kenyenya village, Kisii County, another woman’s body was discovered on the roadside with severe neck injuries and chemical burns. Preliminary investigations indicate that the body may have been killed elsewhere and dumped at the scene. Police are conducting investigations to identify the victim and establish the motive behind the gruesome murder.
In Rabai, Kilifi County, a 66-year-old man, Hussein Kumba, was attacked and fatally injured by unknown assailants while at his home. He sustained deep cuts to the back of his head and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. Bloodstains were found in his compound, and three suspects have been arrested as police pursue the case.
