As Sean “Diddy” Combs awaits sentencing, a surprising twist has emerged from one of his former girlfriends. Identified as “Victim 3” in his indictment, Virginia “Gina” Huynh wrote to the presiding judge declaring that she was not sex trafficked by the music mogul.
In her letter, Huynh explained that during discussions with federal prosecutors, she felt pressured to frame herself as a victim. Despite her repeated insistence that she did not view herself as such, she claims officials continued pushing her to adopt that narrative.
Prosecutors had initially intended to call Huynh to testify in the trial, but they later told the court they could not reach her. While some witnesses alleged Combs was violent toward her, Huynh’s own statement paints a different picture, noting she was not coerced into writing the letter.
The letter is part of several documents submitted by Combs’ legal team as they prepare arguments for a more lenient sentence. His lawyers also announced plans to show a 15-minute video during the sentencing hearing, and at least four attorneys will address the judge. Combs himself is expected to speak directly before the sentence is handed down.
Combs was recently convicted of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, each carrying a maximum of ten years in prison. However, he was acquitted of the more serious allegations of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy.
In contrast to Huynh’s supportive letter, other figures from Combs’ past have asked the court to recognize the harm caused. Cassie Ventura, who previously settled a lawsuit against him, and her parents have written letters expressing fear for their family’s safety, revealing they relocated from New York due to concerns over possible retaliation.
Additionally, the judge has permitted a former employee, referred to as “Mia,” to deliver a statement at the sentencing despite objections from the defense. Combs’ attorneys argue that she is unrelated to the specific charges and accuse her of fabricating claims of abuse.
The sentencing hearing is scheduled for Friday at 10 a.m. ET in Manhattan, where both Combs and his legal team will make their final pleas before the judge announces his fate.
