Police in Eldoret are investigating a disturbing incident after a man received a parcel containing three human fingers tied together with six live bullets. The grisly delivery has raised alarm in the town and prompted a full-scale investigation.
According to police reports, the man said he received a call on Friday from an unidentified individual claiming to have a parcel for him. After giving his location, a motorcycle rider was dispatched to deliver the package. At the time, the recipient was at a local bar. Upon arrival, the rider contacted him, and the delivery was made.
When the man opened the envelope, he was shocked to find three severed human fingers a forefinger, a ring finger, and a little finger, all from the left hand bound together with four 7.62mm and two 9mm live bullets. There was no written message included with the parcel, leaving the motive a mystery.
Police officers who responded to the scene confirmed the contents. The fingers were immediately taken to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary for verification, while the bullets were sent for ballistic analysis to determine their origin and possible use in criminal activities.
Investigators have already questioned the motorcycle rider, who claims he was simply hired to make the delivery and had no knowledge of its contents. Efforts to track down the sender have so far been unsuccessful, as the phone used to contact the recipient has since been switched off.
Authorities have taken fingerprints from the severed fingers in an effort to identify the victim. The findings could help determine whether the person was killed or mutilated. The incident has left residents in shock, with many speculating about possible links to organized crime, intimidation tactics, or a personal vendetta.
