A video showing a foreigner verbally abusing and physically harassing police officers at Diani Police Station in Kwale County has sparked national outrage. The disturbing clip, which circulated widely on Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning, shows the Caucasian man confronting two uniformed officers at the reporting desk while hurling insults.
At one point, the man is seen spitting toward a male officer before wiping his hands on the officer’s uniform after blowing his nose—acts that have been condemned as deeply disrespectful and racist. Throughout the altercation, the officers maintained calm, appearing restrained as the foreigner continued his tirade.
According to reports, the man had earlier been arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend at a hotel in Diani on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. It allegedly took the intervention of hotel staff and police to rescue the woman, who sustained injuries and was taken to hospital.
The viral incident has drawn sharp criticism from Kenyans online, who are demanding immediate action from Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen and Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja. Many questioned why the foreigner appeared to face little resistance despite openly disrespecting law enforcement officers in a police facility.
Vocal Africa CEO Hussein Khalid condemned the National Police Service (NPS), accusing it of double standards.
“The National Police Service is always quick to act against Kenyan protesters demanding justice, yet they tolerate such mistreatment by a white man inside a police station,” he stated.
Other Kenyans echoed similar sentiments, calling for the suspect’s prosecution and deportation.
“Murkomen, are you going to allow such humiliation of your officers? He must face the law,” one user posted.
As investigations continue, Kenyans are urging authorities to restore confidence in the police service by ensuring that justice is served equally—regardless of nationality or race.
