A tragic incident occurred in Kakamega County when the body of a five-year-old girl was found dumped in a pit latrine in Navokholo. The girl, a PP2 pupil at Nderema Comprehensive School, had been playing with other children in the area before she went missing. Local residents discovered her body hours later in the latrine, sparking an immediate investigation by the authorities.
Police arrived at the scene to retrieve the child’s body and transport it to the mortuary. While the motive behind the murder has not been confirmed, it is suspected that the girl was killed before being discarded in the latrine. Tragically, moments after the discovery of the body, a mob gathered and cornered a man they believed was responsible for the crime. The mob proceeded to beat him, stoning him to death and setting his body on fire before law enforcement could intervene.
The police are now conducting further investigations to determine the cause of the girl’s death and the identity of the perpetrator. Both the girl’s and the man’s bodies have been transferred to the local mortuary pending autopsies.
In a separate case, a 46-year-old woman, identified as Martha Wahumu Njoki, was found dead in her home in Kilimani, Nairobi. Her body was discovered some time after her death, prompting an investigation by the authorities. The cause of her death remains unknown, and police are awaiting an autopsy to clarify the circumstances.
In Mombasa, the body of an 89-year-old British woman, Shield Kathleen, was found in her apartment in Shanzu. Preliminary findings suggest she may have died due to illness. Investigations are ongoing, and her body has been moved to the mortuary for an autopsy.
Meanwhile, the body of a French tourist, Dominique Marie Josephe, was found unresponsive in her hotel room in Naivasha. The 20-year-old had checked into the hotel after a visit to Maasai Mara and was due to leave for Amboseli National Park when she was discovered. Police are awaiting autopsy results to determine the cause of her death.
Lastly, in Diani, Kwale County, a 60-year-old German national, Frank Kibling, was found dead in his room. Police are also investigating the cause of death as no clear explanation has emerged yet. The body has been moved to the mortuary for further examination.
